Meet our volunteers
Kenny is a key part of our social media team, helping us develop our social media and branding strategies as well as running our social media during big It Gets Better UK events. She's been a big part of our partnerships work to collect stories and positive messages from high profile figures in the LGBTQ+ community across the UK. In summer 2024, she was behind the scenes at almost every Pride stall we ran!
Why do you volunteer with It Gets Better UK?
I am an active user of all social media channels and wanted to find a way to give back to the community I love so much.
What's been your favourite volunteering action with It Gets Better UK?
Volunteering at Prides across the country is my favourite part. Not only do I get to celebrate Pride all year, I get to meet up with other volunteers and friends.
What would you say to your younger self?
Life might seem hard and isolating right now, but one day you will be out and proud and find a community of great friends and family!
